I have been on diets all my life, but it wasn’t until I worked with nutrition consultant, Sami Ulanski at SUNutrition, LLC that I learned why I was eating the way I eat and what I have been doing wrong with all my previous diets. I learned so many valuable lessons from Sami on how the body needs good food, processes it, and transforms it into energy and muscle. Sami’s incredible journey as a consultant has earned my respect. She practices what she preaches. She has the heart of an angel and will treat you as if you are her only client. She runs her business on helping people achieve their healthy goals.
It was 4 months ago that I started my diet weighing 157 pounds. I now weigh 129 and I am never “hungry” anymore. If you follow the plan, you will find that eating healthy food at the right times in the day are simply “needs” that your body demands. Sami provides you with charts and weekly diet options. She prepares you weeks in advance with a questionnaire that helps her understand what you eat, when you eat, and why you eat what you do. After she works with you to determine your weight loss goals, she provides you a detailed food plan with many options. She takes this very seriously and asks you about your health and eating history. The amount of time she puts into your personal program is unbelievable. She also gives you charts to track of all your measurements so you can see the progress yourself. Once you have a chance to experiment with the diet (which is almost more food than you can eat), she checks in with you weekly to make sure you are doing well. She answers all your questions and addresses any concerns you may have. My diet plan was full of protein, vegetables, fruits, nuts, fiber, and snacks. If you need changes in the diet based on weight loss, energy loss, fatigue, or work out exertion, she will adjust your food to accommodate that.
She seems to know how your body will react before you even do. Like me, if you work out occasionally, she will take that into consideration and adjust when you eat so your workout will be productive. I actually felt like I couldn’t eat as much as she wanted me to eat, but my body was burning it faster than I could take it in. I just kept losing it because my choices were what my body needed and I was burning it faster with the new energy I had to work out longer. Sami will remind you how important drinking water is and we need lots of it. I learned quickly from Sami that sugar cravings and hunger are sometimes simply “lack of water.” I also learned healthy ways to replace sugary treats. You will too. I use to crave sugar many times a day. Not much anymore. I still treat myself every day to a little something sweet, but I no longer gain weight. I simply do it in moderation. How awesome is that?
I am now working on maintaining my weight and not losing any more (which I never thought I would say). My new goal is building muscle. The energy I have is amazing and I achieved my goals with the hope of never going back to the unhealthy me that I was. And that was in only 4 short months.
